Under general direction and using established standards, templates and stencils, responsible for hardware and software designs for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. Utilizes the Bidtracer software to engineer and generate submittals including wiring diagrams, flow charts, sequences, bill of materials, product data sheets, schedules to communicate design installation and operations of systems.
Principal Duties
Designs control systems from standard design library for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required by the contract documents.
Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
Selects product components and creates appropriate stencils as required for designing systems.
Completes all designs and projects in a timely manner to meet the Project schedule and budgeted costs.
Participates in pre-design and regular meetings and updates with project field team.
Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Gathers field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings when required.
Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
Keeps management and customer informed of job progress and issues in a timely manner.
Project management as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in HVAC controls design with demonstrated knowledge in control theory, HVAC, temperature controls, building automation systems and subsystems.
Ability to coordinate and communicate multiple technical projects simultaneously.
Advanced computer skills in drafting tools and submittal generation.
Prior experience at Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Carrier, Schneider Electric and/or Carrier is preferred.
